A significant majority of the industrial world has the same policy. This includes EVERY SINGLE O/G industry partner...

If you were to try and avoid every company that has a "no gunz" policy, you would lead a very sad and bland life...

I understand where the annoyance at these rules comes from, but the reality is that trying to "vote" with your dollars does nothing but inconvenience you.

    Yep.

In fact just today I decided that I will no longer carry to work and leave it in my car during the workday. It pisses me off.

Same here. I don't like it, but they've made me very aware of the policy and I still take their checks. And I will still be buying gas at Shell when my choices are otherwise limited.
Math is tough. Let's go shopping!

I will also throw in here... (Focused on Shell since this thread focuses on how evil shell is...)

Kroger buys their gas from lots of companies, Shell included...

Costco is in the same boat. They specifically call out Shell as one source...

    From the Costco List:
    Shell
    Chevron/Texaco/Anadarko (sale just announced today)
    Exxon/Mobile
    Marathon
    BP/Amoco/Arco

Want to take a guess as to what one of the common safety rules for EVERY SINGLE company mentioned above is?

    That's right.

No guns on premise (not even in personal vehicles - specific to being a contractor/employee/service worker of any kind), no CCW, no nothing... No guns. 100% guaranteed firing offense if you are caught...

I'm one of few who can't because its allowed per state law unless they install screening and screen everyone entering.

Was even in a meeting with polis and his security detail in the room with my ccw in pocket, with one in the chamber last week.

I have succumbed reluctantly. Even if in a locked (safe) inside your vehicle, you're fired if they search it. Ain't right, but it's real.

Yep. It sucks, but it's part of the deal when you take their money...
