Yesterday we fed 9 gallons of sugar water to thousands of birds of three species.
Holy sugar water batman. Feeding hummers up there sounds almost like a job.

Our numbers seem to be down a bit this year. I only run two feeders and this summer I'm not even filling them all the way up because it takes too long for them to drink it before I need to change/clean the feeder. Last year was a high in numbers for us.
Never knew they lived that long.
Laws aren't "preventable" measures. IOW, more gun laws won't stop mass shootings.

Here is a little NatureIsMetal from my own garden. I don't know what the big beetle is, but it has killed a bee and looked to be slurping directly out of the bee's head.

Feeding humming birds is one thing we have missed being out on the prairie.

Hummer, how about a refresher on wild bird feeding in general?

Do you have another pic where the focus is on the bug?

Are all the gates open yet? Sign says second gate opens on July 15th, but after the 15th it still wasn't open. Turning around right there with a trailer sure is awesome.
