Honestly, I don't really want to be shot by a .22 LR....and certainly don't want my kids shot by one

    Agreed 100%.

My point and others is that 400 rounds is not an arsenal.

Well if it was Remington Thunderbolts, he shot 100 and the 400 that were left didn't go off.

    For sure.

My late B-I-L was visiting one year. As i'm grabbing some ammo off the shelf, he says. WOW that's a lot of ammo!. The spouse replies.... Are you kidding me. I have more than that in my headboard

They just can't wrap their head around it. Which the media knows very well and exploits it .

I wonder if people that live in states with the soda tax (is that still a thing) say things like "WOW that's a lot of soda!" when they see someone buying a 24-pk or two.

And it's not just libs. I have a coworker that is not just gun friendly, but somewhat of an enthusiast. He's even a member here, but very rarely posts.

Anyway, during some of the tougher times for rim fire availability, I tell him I found a great sale on 22lr, and did he want in on some.
He tells me, "no, I've got a full brick and a couple loose boxes, I'm good".

I was a bit taken aback, but let it go.

Some people just don't shoot that much. I don't think I've even shot through an entire box of 500 .22 in my life.

YET.....Hypothetically, you have more than that for inventory, hypothetically.
