    Default Ammo cabinet project

Had all my ammo stored in my safe, taking up needed rifle space.

Before I got the safe, I had been using a stack-on cabinet for gun storage. It was just sitting around, so I decided to bolt it into my home office and use it for ammo storage.

Purchased some "pilaster strips" (had never heard that term before) from Lowes:
    https://www.lowes.com/pd/Style-Selections-0-2-in-W-x-72-in-H-x-0-63-in-D-Steel-Wall-Mounted-Shelving/3006365
along with some clips to go with them:

Got 2 of the 72" long ones, and cut them in half with some tin snips to make 4 36" long pieces. Used some simple pop-rivets to mount the strips to the inside of the stack-on cabinet, and made some plywood shelves covered with toolbox drawer liner.

Was able to get all the ammo out of the main safe, and into the stack-on cabinet with a little room to spare. Used 2 lag screws thru the carpet into the subfloor, and 2 toggle bolts thru the drywall mainly to prevent tipping.

    I like that. Good idea.

And now that I have more space in the safe, I can go buy another gun or two!

I am about to undertake a similar project. My ammunition and magazines are currently stored in several places around the house and I picked up another safe not too long ago with the intention of using it to store magazines and ammunition.

    Good job.

My Dad used to keep his magazines in the bathroom vanity under the towels.

    Oh. Wait a minute...

    Different magazines. Nevermind.

I like the toolbox drawer liner idea. Someday I hope I can have a better set up than the boot boxes I've got going now.
