On a positive note, if you do indeed need a weigh slip it isn?t a huge deal or very expensive.

I used to have to get my 3/4 ton truck (company vehicle) weighed every year. Just about any truck stop worth it?s salt makes it super easy to get it weighed. Pull on the scales right and you can even get the front/rear axle weights. My trucks were pretty evenly balanced with about 4,500 or so on both axles.

^^^this. Some states paper work does not require weight, Colorado does.

I drove a used F150 back from Michigan in March and same deal, and I didn't get truck plates. I had to go to a scale and get a weight slip. It was worth it though, I got way more truck for my money than buying here in CO.

CAT Scales has an App. You can do most of it (esp if you need re-weighs) from your phone. Go inside to pickup the hardcopy.
