I'm tolerant of many things but after years of intolerance by other people I find it getting harder and harder to tolerate or ignore people telling me if I don't conform to their standards that I am an evil person.

I wasn't going to comment until I saw that the Navy is investigating a bunch of Navy Cadets for racism because they were waving "racist" hand signals at a football game this weekend. The hand sign is the OK sign - the thumb and first finger tips touching with the other three fingers up. Someone declared it a white supremacist sign and now you can get jumped on for using it.

If you control the words you can control the dialog. And everything else follows.

A free society is self destructive because it allows those who don't believe in freedom to thrive. We are seeing the result of this now.

I'm pretty much as nondiscriminatory as one gets. I hate everyone equally. I'd be much happier if the vast majority of the human race would just leave my planet now.

Less than a day later, they've reversed their decision...and thereby pretty much pissed off everyone (one side for cancelling the ad, the other for bringing it back).

Yeah, but the company with the ads got world-wide exposure while only paying Hallmark Channel commercial rates. Serious win for them.

I would fricking love for white supremacists to co-opt "Bernie Sanders 2020" or "Vote for Joe 2020" as a new white power phrase.

The thing about that symbol is that it's one of the many things that 4chan has tried to link to white supremacy as a general trolling of the whole world. People fell for it and endlessly repeat it. My kid told me how last year her teacher told the whole class that it was a white supremacist symbol and even all the sixth graders didn't believe her. Another thing they tried to link to white supremacy was drinking milk. It was funny that they were successful, until all the sudden it wasn't funny, but sad that people don't verify things.
