Default Best 1911 smith in the Denver area?

My CMP 1911 shoots to the right and the rear sight is way over to the right which explains that issue..

Looking for someone that can get it dialed in for me.

Well if Bert hangs his shingle back out soon since ITAR is going away, I'd say go there.

That said, I have a friend that swears by TJ's in Aurora but I don't know if he brings anything more than rifles there. He does have a lot of old (and new) Colts.

If that's the only issue you have you could just buy a sight pusher.

Or if there isn?t any tritium you could just tap it over with a hammer and punch.

My thoughts after I read the issue.

I would recommend a sight pusher. I've used the hammer/brass punch technique... leaves unwanted marks.

Some sight pushers are better than others, and prices are all over the map. You could borrow one, possibly.

You?ve got to embrace modern technology.

I use a polymer punch and a plastic deadblow hammer and haven?t had any issues with marking up anything.

Not that the sight pusher isn?t the way to go but if you don?t have one and just need to drift the rear sight you can make due without it.

The nice thing about the sight pusher is you can get a slow, controlled movement of the sight. Sometimes whacking on it will move it too far and then you have to whack it back a little and then maybe it jumps too far back on the return whack, etc.

If you?re anal like me you could spend fifteen minutes with a hammer and punch and a set of calipers trying to get that rear sight dead center on the slide. It?s like a three minute job with a pusher.

That depends on whether or not someone put some kind of adhesive under the site when they initially set it.
Liberals never met a slippery slope they didn't grease.

I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them.
