    Initially, I was going to be flip and speak to the technical aspects of how those data sources could be combined to return instant results (it's actually my field of expertise).

    But then, as I think it through, I'm not sure sure I WANT the state to have instant access to data at that scale. The fundamental issue is, we should not have to be subjected to this for something that is a RIGHT, plain and simple.

    Absolutely! I've been saying this as well. This illustrates how much 2A has been "infringed" when the government hoops aren't available. It shouldn't be this way. I should be able to hand my neighbor a gun to defend his home (as well as the neighborhood) without it being an illegal "transfer".

    The government is in the way, and when it isn't functioning, can't be counted on and becomes another infringement that shouldn't even be there.

    As to the prosecution for those that lie on a 4473, it's almost non-existent. The percentage is so low below 1%, you have to wonder why it's even there at all, at great expense to the taxpayers and our rights.
