My insurance company is giving us back 30% on auto premium!
Just got an email from USAA
Dear Fellow Member‚
We know the COVID‐19 pandemic is having a financial impact, and we're taking action to ease the burden. Every member with an auto insurance policy in effect as of March 31, 2020, will receive a 20% credit on two months of premiums in the coming weeks. All told, we're returning about $520 million.
We're able to pass on those savings because your efforts to stay home during the pandemic have meant fewer drivers on the road, which means fewer accidents and claims.
You will receive a credit applied to your bill. There is no need to call or take any action. For more details on the premium credit,
Maybe State Farm will follow suit, but I won't hold my breath.

Progressive is doing the 20% give back for April and May. They may extend it into the months after that if the pandemic continues.

The deferred 2 months of car payments isn't automatic... so yes, you should call if you have an auto loan with USAA or call your lender regardless, for that matter. I bet they're willing to work with you somehow.

I got a non-renewal notice from Auto Owners on my commercial auto policy, but only because the agency that writes my policy lost their business.
Some of my buddies have complained about USAA, and one even left them because they aren't as competitively priced as they used to be. In the 25+ years I've been with them, they have been fantastic.

We are planning to issue the refund in the manner you made your most recent payment or by check.
