Does anyone else have a bit of anxiety when opening this thread? I'm always a tad bit worried that there will be a picture or link to an article about something I did.

I feel bad for the spider.

Thankfully there was no Internet or cell phones when I was a kid doing stupid stuff. Youth today just don't seem to grasp the concept of "plausible deniability".

I have a suspicion that most of us would be in jail if our childhood actions were judged by today?s standards.

I'd have had my butt spanked and been grounded so much, I wouldn't have much time to get in trouble.

I wasn't afraid of the police. They have limits. I was afraid of my parents.

I grew up out in the boonies with 6 brothers and sisters, Dad owned an excavating business and along with all the heavy equipment came the workshop and tools to repair them. Older brother and I would get balloons, fill halfway with acetylene and top it off with oxygen from his cutting torches. Put the balloon in a paper grocery bag, twist the neck of the bag up tight, set fire to it and run like hell. Home-made Daisy Cutter. We would clear out spots to pitch our pup-tent for camping expeditions down by the river. Also used to take M-80s (back when you could buy real M-80s), smear them with contact cement and roll them in BBs. I am still amazed that nobody walked away with a bloody stump.

I read your 'frag grenade' description and it reminded me that I'm surprised I still have both of my eyes. Can't read worth a damn without glasses at my age, but they still mostly work.

Cruelest thing the police ever said/did to me: "I've called your mother. She's on the way down here. She didn't sound happy."

I made sticks of explosive out of the hard cardboard tube that used to come on hangers for pants...about 12 or 14 inches long. Plug one end with wax. Fill it and tamp it really good with homemade gunpowder (thank you Encyclopedia Britannica). Top it with a model rocket engine fuse and seal that end with wax.

Pretty impressive explosion and a metric shit ton of smoke. Many a tree were laid waste thanks to the IEDs of my youth.
