Jeep falling off mountain

The roll over from a few years ago happened because the guy was scared of the edge, so he went too far away from the drop off. His driver tires climbed the inside edge and he rolled over anyway. Seems like right in the middle is the safest bet on a pass like that.

Yes, I was there the day after with a group and he easily had 5 ft from the right side to the edge. His prints were still visible.

I googled Black Bear pass. Looks gnarly, lots of Youtube videos out there.

It was a manual transmission. The driver said he put it in neutral and set the parking brake.

That'll buff right out.

Red cone has been well maintained and wide. I would also say a few of the obstacles at the beginning deter less experienced drivers.

The switchbacks on the 285 side of Webster Pass are far more dangerous and narrower than red cone.
