Default PSA: Veterans Day Discounts (From the VA)

This is the link from the VA for various discounts being offered by many businesses this veterans day. It's pretty admirable, in my opinion, that so many businesses are willing to recognize veterans by donating their goods and services. I, for one, appreciate the offers and try to make at least one during the day. Obviously, some (like Home Depot) offer an ongoing discount to vets.

FFS... Thanks for turning something positive into something negative. Nice work.

Thanks for posting BG. That's an impressive list. I usually end up working on Veteran's Day. I did have a boss who bought me a six pack once. On the clear understanding that it was to be consumed after work.

Lighten up. I’m a veteran. It’s a joke. Other veterans get it. Sorry if you don’t.

I get it. I saw the movie, too. The line was appropriate...in the movie. In the context in which you used it here, it's not. It's a way of saying people don't understand the meaning of the day.

Ummmmm yeah, the people that “get” that meme understand Veterans Day in a way that you don’t.
Regardless, we don’t need to derail the V day thread so I apologize to Bailey and anyone that was hurt by the free Applebee’s meme.
To the rest of my veteran compadres, enjoy the day of recognition and remembrance.

I've been keeping an eye out but it doesn't look like Amazon is offering the same Prime membership discount they offered last year ?

Good to hear Home Depot has gone to a discount everyday vs the holidays.
Lowe's puts your phone number in the computer and thanks the vets each time they buy something and give their phone number.
After getting back to the States in San Francisco in 1969, the reception was not the same at all.
Whenever a group of us gathered we all started with:

    A toast to missing comrades!

    Happy Veteran's Day!
