If Signal is not assisting in that data being made available, they have to know that it can be viewed by people outside of Signal.

The creator was on Rogan recently, you could listen and find out for yourself if you want. Signal is also a non-profit that raises funds through donations from people who use the app. So they aren't selling data, I assume. Not sure if you accused them of that or were about to.

I watched that episode. In 2020 there is no electronic privacy. If there somehow is, you will be better off playing it safe as if there is none. Saying they are a non profit makes them even less trustworthy knowing some of the background info on where non profits come from, and how many of them have been used in extremely egregious ways.
