Default Any RZR (or similar SxS) owners on here?

With all these stimulus checks rolling in, I am considering purchasing one either this year or early next year but want to do my homework first before jumping in $25K+

I know Moab is the place to go but does Colorado have its fair share of places to ride? I've heard that SxS owners are not too highly thought of by the full size off-road community. Can anyone recommend any popular forums or Colorado owner groups? Thanks in advance.

There are 2 of em in the front yard right now. I own one of them, the other is here to see if I can find a boost leak.

    They're fun, when they run.

There are tons of places to ride in CO, but I haven't looked into forums or anything.

There are quite a few places in CO to ride them. There are also a lot of places you can?t take them due to trail width restrictions.

I know a lot of people that have them and enjoy them. It does seem that parts and upgrades are a little pricey. Make sure to budget for a trailer as well if you don?t already have one. Keep in mind that the 95%+ time you aren?t actually using it you will have to have a place to store it and the trailer.

To each their own but if someone gave me a $20K budget I could build a pretty decent Jeep and drive it to and from the trails.

You need a longer wheel base for doing Moab. Also get one with a engine brake.

Already have a lifted Wrangler but it just doesn't move my adrenaline meter enough.

Kawasaki mule 4010. It is a workhorse with a top speed of almost 26mph. It doesnt go fast, but it builds fence well, hauls hay and most everything else I have asked it to do. I will be purchasing something a little faster soon, probably a Polaris Ranger as I need something faster than the cows when they get out.

    Fair enough.

One of my coworkers was showing off his new RZR type thing the other day. I don?t know much about these things but I remember him talking about everything he had done to it so far. Almost every upgrade (plastic skid plates replaced with metal, some sort of roll cage upgrade or mod, bumpers maybe?, something with the roof panel or windshield?, etc.) seems like it was a minimum of $500 or more. Not sure which model he has but it came with actual DOT tires like you would put on a pickup truck- 31 or 33 inch or something like that. It might have been factory equipped with some sort of long travel suspension and Fox shocks or something. I guess basically his model came from the factory with a lot of stuff that used to be popular aftermarket upgrades.

It's too bad they don't let people street license them with a maximum speed threshold (35mph roads or what not).

It would make retirement communities much more interesting. I don't have one, but I've heard one particular aggravation is that a ton of side-by-side drivers go out into fairly difficult trails woefully unprepared. No tools at all, no supplies/food/water/medical/blankets/etc, no plans, etc., so from a perspective of annoying SAR or your friends, just don't be "that guy" and everyone will probably be just fine sharing the trails with you.

Another thing might be trail etiquette, or lack there of. Guys that have never spent any time off road can afford a sweet new toy and just go blasting through the woods at full speed around blind corners and stuff. Doesn't sound like that will apply to you.

This is kind of what I assumed. I grew up on dirt bikes and learned etiquette following my father for years.
