Thanks 00tec. That jibes with my original thought process, that this is just a deterrent, but it is bad/scary when you have this kind of deterrent (drive the speed limit, or else) on a daily travelled road.

My next thought is to take it up with the Aurora City Council, because unless they have evidence to the danger of speeding on this road (which I have driven daily for the last 8 years), they shouldn't be pushing people onto an Elementary School Road, or a main artery, unless necessary.

I always talk about how I donate to the "cop ball swim" when I get pulled over.

What is that? It's an inside joke that I've never lived down.

ETA: In a more serious tone, I am guessing the thing flashes lights and reads the speed of a single vehicle within what, 150 yards? But I am not there. Isn't the "non politically correct" answer: Drive the speed limit in front of the flashy thing? I mean, that's what people do here with the trailers. And then, as soon as they pass em... yeah...

Honestly though, complaining about it to some elected official that might benefit from ticket revenue is how you get a cop posted to the street.
They'll get the evidence from you.

I am always prepared to pay the fine, which is why I go 9 over. This is a pretty standard/ok fine.

But this speed trap is on my daily route to work. It's unavoidable, unless I choose to change my route and drive by the elementary school, or get on the main artery.

This is very reason why I live in cities with higher speed limits. Washington between 136th and 144th use to be 60MPH (or was it 55) until the darn Outlet came in. Now it is only 45mph.

Speed limit are set artificially low. Engineering safety studies are ignored and limits are set by revenue greedy law enforcement agencies and politicians.

COVID has shown what the free flow safe speed of most roads. I-25 through Denver should be 65-75, not 55.

100% of all traffic fines and fees should go to the state lottery, not government. Law enforcement should never be revenue driven.

Are you doing 44mph in a residential? Or are you trying to describe traffic that originates from a residential area? What is on either side of the street? If there are any houses, get fucked. If it's open fields, use your words like a big boy so we can better understand your crying.

Who the fuck is pushing you onto an elementary school road. That would actually be a personal choice on your part. FFS...

How many speeding tickets can you absorb, before you change your behavior?

This is pure, government, control, or attempted control, without cause or reason, resulting in unattended consequences like my (and other people) driving through a school zone.

This, we just moved out of a neighborhood that had shit bags going 45+ (estimated) through the hood on a regular basis, I flipped off many of them from my yard, but most were going too fast to notice. Again, if you are speeding through a residential area, get bent.
