I don't OC, just because I don't need the hassle it's likely to bring on, but I absolutely agree with your statement. More decently dressed/respectable looking individuals OC'ing and desensitizing folks to firearms by good guys is sorely lacking in our nation. I think if more people saw more people carrying on a regular basis we wouldn't have this irrational fear of firearms that is so prevalent and what helps get more anti-gun laws on the books.

I think Lauren Boebert is awesome. I appreciate the fact that she is outspoken and is willing to put money where her mouth is. But that floppy looking thigh rig she always wears just looks so... ineffective. Her gun hangs halfway to her knee and being top-heavy leans away from her leg. I really wish some quality holster manufacturer would set her up with a better rig.

Personally, I feel much more comfortable when my holster snugs up against me nice and tight. And I like something higher that I can inconspicuously secure with my elbow if someone gets too close.
Just after I stopped playing cop for the USAF, they started using thigh rigs. I have one and I can say without reservation that it's easier/faster to get the gun out and on target with a properly adjusted thigh holster than it would have been with the higher duty belt holster. BUT, it needs to be a quality holster and properly adjusted. Anything else is an accident waiting to happen or an increase in on-target time should the wearer need to draw.

Just my thoughts and experience on the subject.

I understand where you're coming from, but...

When I was doing armed security work back in the day, I spent a lot of time in a vehicle (field supervisor). A high riding holster was more comfortable for that. I also could easily retain the revolver with my arm. Drawing was still pretty quick with practice, you just had to work your shoulder a bit more. ;-)

Yes. It just depends on the local culture. If you are going to do it in a less common urban area, you need to look squared away.

Or like a cop, which is mostly squared away.

But most civilians aren't going to be quite so squared away. It's still their right, to open carry, or keep and bear arms.

There are consequences, to believing in the 2nd amendment, and that we all have the right to keep and bear arms.

This means drug dealers, have the right to keep and bear arms.

This means girls, have the right to keep and bear arms.

Pretty much everyone you don't want to have arms, has the rights to have arms.

And I?m fine with all of that, I?m even fine with prisoners having the right to bear arms once they are released, they are either rehabilitated or they aren?t, that being said, I think child molesters should earn a death sentence (off topic I know).

meh..... Why not Open carry a Barrett 107/82 or 110 Elite Precision 30" barrel on a Tab Biathlon sling?

(or buy an sturdier izzo dual golf strap for a fraction of the cost)

Exercising a right doesn't make you a special snowflake immune from criticism about how you exercise that right.
