I see people from time to time open carrying in COS. Runs the range from the hi point in some knockoff condor drop leg to people with fancy looking 1911s.

I often open carry in the small towns near where I am hunting as I already have it on me anyway. I often see people there OCing as well.

It's legal to OC in Yellowstone and Teton and it's even listed on their informational materials and website so not sure what the issue would be. It is however illegal to discharge a firearm for any reason within the park so if it happens be ready for a world of shit even if it was 100% self defense.

It is also illegal to bring it into any of the federal buildings like the ranger stations, welcome centers, or the ferry. Hence my comment about choosing other options when I want to use the flush toilet in the gift shop.

Yep. After I realized girls could have guns in their purses, it made me really uncomfortable hanging out in the alley behind the Yoga studio. For a while. But then I realized that discomfort is just the price of freedom.

A guy was OC in the Falcon Safeway a couple weeks ago. Full size .45 in some sort of floppy holster at 1:00 (in front). Didn't care for the rig . But lots of customers were going up and saying 'glad you are here, feel good you're protecting us, etc.'
