I have received zero response on my queries to state legislators and CSSA concerning who to lobby. The fact that it passed out of committee is not surprising since the sponsor is the Senate leader and gets to pick the committee it is sent to.

The problem is that you have to lobby your own representative, if you are not a constituent of the senator you are contacting they will just trash your response anyway. It is obvious which way my representatives lean, last time I tried to send them something via their published representatives email addresses my message came back as undeliverable, so it’s a waste of time for me, my only hope is that Polis somehow has a moment of clarity and realizes the shit show this bill will produce.

I guess it is off to Polis' desk... What a crappy law. While I never voted for Polis, I thought he wasn't a sleazebag like Chickenlooper and wasn't your usual pol. If he wants to felate Bloomberg, go ahead.

Don’t think it has gone to vote in the senate yet but I’m sure it will pass there as well.

The media vacuum (intentional?) on this bill is amazing. My coworker is an avid shooter and new nothing of it.

If signed into law, I expect every urban city will copy Boulder's AWB and >10 mag ban within 3 months. 99% of your mag stash illegal overnight- no grandfathering, no exemptions. Your may be able to register existing weapon to keep them, for a fee. Anything is on the table.

Concealed carry will be eliminated in almost all metro city/county owned buildings, parks, trails, open space, public corridors (16th Street Mall) and RTD. Say bye-bye to legal carry on CU/CSU property. Only way to avoid violating something is to leave it at home or locked in your car.

Certain counties will revive or expand limitations for safe shooting on private property.

Age of firearms possession raised to 21 or 25 or 30 in local areas. Why not?

This wall of suck is unprecedented.

Would some of you please include detailed talking points so that we can address the governor directly with every important reason to veto the bill.

We tried with Hickenlooper and the magazine limit bill but Polis may be more open to govern responsibly, and more motivated to get reelected.

I think just the patchwork of different laws throughout the state would be enough. And even if cities pass laws saying that you are exempt if just passing through how the hell do you police or enforce that? What a shit show.
