I hit my target 100% of the time....as long as I am aiming at the ground
oh, and while bird hunting my dog usually ends up begging me to stop because his jaw gets tired![]()
Wow, quite a rant, who pissed on YOUR sniper rifle?
I, for one, have good days and bad. I've put lead on paper at 150 yards that I didn't think possible. I've put 12 gauge on paper at long distances - albeit that it was a peppering and probably had the velocity of a pebble being thrown into that paper, but it's happened.
Now that you've thrown down the gauntlet, what is YOUR claim my friend? I'll tell you that when I go camping I typically plink targets at 30-60 yards for fun with a pistol and that kind of practice has increased my accuracy. I won't claim that I put it in the center on each shot at 60 yards, but I'll do well enough for my taste.

Am I really the only one who Big Game hunts with a .22 Short? Its all about shot placement. If you guys can't hit an elk in the vitals at 600m with a .22, then you really should be practicing more...
On a serious note, isn't hunting camp always about a bunch of guys seeing who can piss further, talk bigger shit and tell the best story?

Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.
I never claim to be the best shot, but I typically know what I'm doing sort of... I can't hit what I'm aiming at. Still want to find some time and someone to take me out longer than 500 and teach me a little.
+1. I don't have any combat training/experience but I believe I'd be able to defend myself with minimal collateral as well. And Byte, brother, you forgot the pancake on the bunnies' head!
I hear ya, I think it's be fun as well. Can't get better if you always play with people worse than you.
AMEN to that! I'd be a free caretaker for you... since I don't have any money, lol.
That sounds like a lot of fun too.
Something that may tie into this thread, since we are talking about "top shot" etc, is the prevalance to specialize... A lot of people will only fire one thing, a pistol or a rifle... even within those two disciplines people will tend to stick with one caliber... I think that's horrible and they are really cheating themselves from the full experience. When I go out, I like to play with everything....

I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.
