My son was in FL training with AC-130s this past week. Contracted COVID. He said it was like a mild flu...more annoying than anything. He feels better but lost his senses of taste and smell now. So he's been holed up for a while and may be taken off flight and combat status for a bit. I'm almost thankful. He's less than 2 years to retirement. Of course he doesn't feel the same way his father does about that.

My friend's Dad made it to O8 and they dangled a third star in front of his face to try to get him to be the J4 in Kuwait for the Iraq invasion. He was so done with it, and retired about as far away from the beltway as possible- a 35 acre ranchette down near Westcliffe.

Exactly what'd I'd expect from our men. There was no doubt in my mind our soldiers were leaving the airport despite orders to stay.
