2351287[/URL]]Some of you know Calvin. He had to have emergency spine surgery. Suddenly went lame and was screaming with any attempt to move him. Unfortunately, I was out of town. My bride was able to get a friend to help load him into the car and she got him to the hospital. After x-rays, ultrasounds, and an MRI, they figured out that he had a bulging disc that had gotten infected. The infection ate the disc and much of both adjacent vertebrae. Luckily, they had a great neurosurgeon on staff who was able to operate the next day. It's been a slow recovery, with a long way to go yet, but he's happy and getting better every day. I've been sleeping on the floor with him every night that I'm home. He's in better spirits than I was after a lesser surgery!

Calvin had a relapse / recurrent spine infection. He had another MRI this morning, and is back in the hospital on IV antibiotics overnight (as well as a ketamine/fentanyl drip overnight). Prognosis is 6 months of Antibiotic injections 3x/ day for 6 months, hopefully that will do it. Just thankful he?s still here for now.
