This turd intentionally tried to inflame a race riot which would have resulted in untold property damage and probably some lives lost. He's getting off light IMO and Kim Fox ought to be going up the river with him. It sounds like he's setting himself up for protective custody so he won't have to live barracks style.

At least he's already gay -- he won't get to choose his partners but he's already used to the actions.

It's being called Afristocracy, but notice how Al Sharpton and the good Rev. Jackson are keeping thier traps shut on this. Smollett fleeced a lot of people, yet he will end up writing a book on his experience in jail, hit all the MSM urinals and become a rainbow hero (again).

"Mr. Smollett is being housed in his own cell, which is monitored by security cameras in the cell and by an officer wearing a body-worn camera who is stationed at the entrance of the cell to ensure that Mr. Smollett is under direct observation at all times," the Cooks County Sheriff said in a statement.

Maybe he's not as dumb as everyone thinks.

IMHO he got off ridiculously light considering all the circumstances. I want everyone to consider something... this is the justice system showing off "how tough it is" because of how much public attention this garnered. Otherwise he would've had no consequences even if he did this 8+ times.

And this is the court showing "how tough it is". 6 months in protective custody, no general pop, he'll end up profiting from it anyway, whoopty doo da day, they may as well have put a red carpet in his cell for him. As others have mentioned, if the judicial worked, the prosecutor would've been prosecuted too...

He was fine with a couple of innocent white men having their lives destroyed under false pretenses. Psychopaths deserve more punishment.

Not to mention how crooked is Cook County State's Attorney Kimberly Foxx who attempted to give him a total pass on the crimes he committed.

I cannot image that 6 months in protective custody (aka solitary) is much fun..
