Deleting posts because they MAY offend someone is bad news. That is the leftist mentality many of us rail against on these very pages.

Leave them up and let's decide amongst ourselves. If someone posts something stupid, rude or offensive (within the terms of course), he rapidly will find out from the other users.

As far as this site being scrutinized, people that are looking at sites such as this for anti-gun fodder have already made up their minds on the issue. Being falsely polite to each other in case some dork from Media Matters happens upon this thread is being overly cautious and playing into their hands.

By deleting posts, it proves that they have gotten into your head that if you say something to offend them, it's better to shove it down Orwell's memory hole and pretend bad words were never said. A better and more persuasive argument is if the monitor sees that when someone goes over the line, other users call him out on it and discuss it like adults, instead of hiding it like frightened children.
