I do't think Polis wants anything to do with an AWB. He knows it is a dead end legally, and he'll want to get stuff done to polish his middle of the road credentials for a shot at VP next round. Polis doesn't make the laws, he only signs them into existence. As for his aspirations, he doesn't want 2nd place. He's going for the big trophy and signing a ban is not as far to the left as you and I feel it is. Many undecided voters think a ban is a good idea. Especially in a state that seems to have a lot of high profile shootings.

Where did you read or hear about a deal? Who made this deal? I have never heard of that and like to think I follow this issue somewhat closely. Something else to consider is the Democrats likely gained seats in both houses two weeks ago.

Actually, especially with "child drag shows" and schools having secretive LGBTQ clubs and talking to preteens about how these activities are "normal" and should be encouraged and celebrated, I'm surprised that very few protests have occurred and far fewer acts of violence, or even credible threats of violence.

However, in this particular case, the shooter appears to be a psychotic with no friends who lived with an apparently unbalanced mother who encouraged his violent fantasies. He seems to have had zero social media presence, but maybe we'll eventually find out he was active on 4chan and incel forums, as other mass shooter were.

I thought that was common knowledge. Polis knew an AWB would be a crap show political theater and didn’t want waves. Now, or course Polis doesn’t ‘make’ legislation, but he makes or breaks it.

AWB are on their way out, as long as Thomas doesn’t keel over. Bruen and the other cases make it pretty clear- as even Obama judges have to rule so far.

So Polis can find out how purple the state is and fight to pass a law that will already has a expiration sticker on it, or do something else that he can actually put on his ‘resume’.

Not about me. Not about anything except the fact that certain people are fed up with the agenda being pushed over and over and over again. A small fraction of the population and their lifestyle choices being force fed to the rest of the population may have caused this whackjob to shoot up a club. Never said it was about me.
