The High Road is "Not a Humor Site"

Since the gist of this thread is about someone getting scolded for posting off topic I thought I would prove what an awesome community this is by sharing something here.

Went to Walmart this evening to pick up some groceries. Got to the checkout with my cart to pay and then realized they no longer provide bags. I think if my wife hadn?t been with me I might have just left the cart and walked out. But, I guess if it saves just one sea turtle then it?s worth it.

This is just Mr. Waltons way of offering you to take home one of his finest shopping carts.

I had a whole thread deleted during the pandemic.
During the ammo shortage..it was 40 vs 9mm when all you can buy is FMJ bullets or something like that.
MOD flipped out about not another caliber war thread.
40 was proclaimed dead and ammo was limited so I figured it would be relevant.
Don't start a thread that involves bears in anyway either.

I received several emails from the staff over there. It boils down to "this could have been handled better" and "we are reviewing our moderator policies".

Which obviously means nothing but I feel slightly mollified.

I would caution about reposting something a mod has deleted, even if he is being unreasonable.

Why? What is he going to do? Beat me up and rape my dog?
At worst I get banned from the site. That is no great loss, especially considering I can sign up under 100 different names and REALLY stir the pot.

I think we need to ban Memphis for his poor quality jokes. After all this IS a humor sight!

I think we take it step further and Ban The Internet!

Go back to the good old days of unbiased information from the likes of Dan Rather and the New York Times.

That usually doesnt work as well as most folks think.

Caution was only if you care about the ability to post there. If your only interested in being disruptive rather than participating in the discussion then by all means, have at it.

Is the job open? Maybe you could give me a reference. "I was whining like a 3 year old on another site about your humorless and heavy-handed moderation, and someone called me out on it. I think he'd be a good fit..."
