    Default Wait For It...

    https://www.thecentersquare.com/colo...acdc37729.html

Colorado Democrats announced the filing of four firearm bills on Thursday and Republicans vowed to oppose the measures.

The Democratic lawmakers say the bills will strengthen Colorado's "red flag law," raise the minimum age to purchase firearms from 18 to 21, institute a three-day waiting period, and remove legal protections for firearm sellers and manufacturers.

    The incessant creep of leftism.

They will never stop until they have achieved their dream of an unarmed populace.

The 18 to 21 bill is a blatant attempt to kill-off future gun owners by making sure children and young adults have minimal legal methods of being exposed to firearms, and hence, will have little interest in being a lawful owner after age 21. They are always working the big picture...

There's nothing new here. This sort of thing is SOP for democrats. When they don't get what they want the first time they just keep trying. This has been going on for years now in Colorado just like it's been going on in the rest of the country where democrats have gained control.

We'd save more lives if we raised the driving age to 21.

The difference now is the makeup of the Senate and House.

There are not enough Republicans to stop legislation from being passed. House- 46D, 19R. Senate- 23D, 12R.

The Democrat Governor is unlikely to veto the bills. The left leaning Supreme Court is unlikely to strike down the laws.

While not new, the sympathetic press will give little coverage of the bills. What coverage it does receive will be fawning over the dramatic steps taken by the gallant representatives of the people who are making our lives safer through yet more laws.

The bill also stipulates that local governments can pass ordinances that would make the waiting period longer than the one described in the bill.

Denver and Boulder can then implement a 180 day waiting period. Or 5 years.

That has already been passed in 2021, but point taken. Besides legal injunctions, there is no method to limit the insanity of local activist Karen governments.

When I was 18-20 in the mid-90's, my friends and I would go shooting at a variety of ranges and NF shooting areas along the northern Front Range. We would have pretty much everything including rimfire, center-fire, rifle, pistol, revolver and shotgun- single shot, manually operated, and semi-auto. Shocking that we were non-criminal citizens engaging in safe and lawful use of firearms- exactly the population who these bills target. This time was critical in expanding my interest in broad spectrum firearms ownership and usage. I doubt my kids will have the same opportunity.
