Looks like someone crossed a Charter with a Rossi, then added gold plating.

I was thinking it has a very RG or Rossi look.

And if you know anything about RG or Rossi revolvers, you know that is NOT a compliment.

I think the RG revolver was actually the archetype of the "Saturday Night Special." Cheap and poorly made.

I'm a revolver guy but I'll stick with my old S&Ws and Rugers.

I wouldn't be unhappy if increased sale of revolvers made .38/.357 ammo more plentiful though.

Ray, here?s how I got mine.
Call the 800 number for Cabelas, and ask them to check stores with stock. They should be able to say which store has one. You then have to call that store directly and talk to the GUN library/ transfers guy/manager. He will be able to say if the rifle is allocated or not. If it?s not, you should be able to buy it and have it transferred to you local bass pro/cabelas. The one caveat you have to pay with a credit card not a Debit card.

Thanks. I?ve been looking for one for probably two plus years now. Might have to give that a try.

I'll find their booth here at the NRA membership meeting and see if I can give you a hands on report...

I actually really like them. They look like a modern take on a vintage revolver. I'd gladly take one with the birdshead grip if I can find one for under the same price as a S&W new model 19.

The older Rossi revolvers were similar in quality to Taurus... most of them worked fine, others not so much.

RG was a Florida made SNS which installed imported Rohm components on a cast zinc allow frame. They are trash, slightly better than a starting pistol converted to a zipgun. As a teenager, I found an RG14 22 that keyholed every round and couldn't hit a paper plate from 3 feet away.

New Rossi revolvers have Taurus stamped right on them, now that Taurus bought the company.

Keep in mind that this is a display model...

Fit and finish was excellent. All edges were broken and very "roundy". Buling is a deep, rich blue color. Trigger pull typical of a stock revolver both single and double action.

...the look just isn't my cup of tea.
