    Default Tucker Carlson- Vice President?

I have seen this gaining momentum over the past couple of days. The Trump loving media sources say it is a great pairing. The leftists think it is a surefire loser ticket.

I have no idea what to think. A decade ago I would think it was a joke. Today, I'm not so sure.

I do believe that Joe Biden will not be the candidate for the Democrat side. Again, I have no idea who will replace him.

    Interesting times to be sure.

Frankly, because we're so focused on identity politics, I can see this happening. I yearn for the old days when folks were selected more for their ability to do the job than for which demographic they fit into. I don't give a damn what race or (by birth) gender a candidate is, so long as they have the skills to do the job. These days, those are the candidate selection boxes that remain unchecked - but the boxes that are getting checked are purely demographic related.

Neither Harris nor Warren should be trusted to run a 7-11, and certainly not the nation. But, then again, this is the case for most of the candidates on both sides these days.

I was starting to think we were headed towards a President Macho Camacho. Now I think we're headed for a President Ru Paul.

    When was this magical era?

Politics has always been about speechifying, promising the world and destroying the opponent.

Capable men rarely run for office. Those seeking money and power do.

"It's high time we have a black man/woman in office" vs "I'm voting for Trump because he insults people!"

In decades prior, it used to traditionally it was "I'm voting for _____ because I like guns/lower taxes/responsible spending/less regulation". Sometimes it was as simple as "they have a R or a D" next to them for some voters, sure. But people didn't rise to the top of the froth based upon their white-virtue-driven minority membership until recent times.

Now, the typical American voter does not care anything about even their own platform. A classical variation is so-called fiscal conservatives voting for Trump, who spent more - percentage or amount - than any president in all of U.S. history. It's a celebrity referendum vote there, despite his violation of their own platforms.

Instead, it's all about "pissing off the other side", or their identity "black woman vp!" or "I pretend to be native american!", or how big of a celebrity they are, and that's not going to change.

Going forward there's a high probability most of the U.S. presidents will be some kind of influencer or Taylor Swift-type popular celeb. It already helped Trump.

The thought of the majority put into voting on both sides has reached the basement floor with an empty "ding". Otherwise... remember kids... we wouldn't even have these complete idiots for candidates in the first place.

Traditionally most nominees were highly educated and generally supported the platform under the voters. Sure, most, if not all, were seeking some level of money and power.

Now, people's platform doesn't matter, their vitriol for others and desire for expanding American divide controls the vote and will eventually rue the day.
