Definitely out there a bit

First, The Cons.
  • It's EAST of Byers.. yeah its a drive. MAP It's at the intersection of HWY36 and County road 60
  • ??? The rifle range Faces East into the morning Sun.(I'll let you decide on your own if that's a Con to you)
Next the Pros.
  • Its Out there a bit...you aren't going to see your name in the paper because a stray hit someones cat or some shit.
  • Its sits in a small Draw so there will be some wind protection afforded.
  • They have Private lanes for 50 yd.
  • They have a NICE open 100 yd.
  • They are working on a 500 yd (under construction)
  • They have a nice trap area (I don't shoot trap, but its nice.)
Generally looks like it will be a good Range. Seems pretty well thought out to me.

Generalities (neither good nor Bad)
  • Tables Provided
  • Target stands are not provided
  • No Concrete pads or Decking
  • No Overhead cover on Lanes
  • It is a private Range (Members+Guests)
When I went out there was only one other shooter (other than Buffalobo and his son), everyone seemed "small town" Nice. The Kinda nice that has no judgment or ego in it.
I found this really refreshing

I am still considering it.. it will take allot of thought to get me to make that trip every time I want to shoot. it took me about 75-80 Minutes one way

I would like to Publicly Thank Buffalobo and his son, as well as Lead Valley Range, for the Hospitality. I only wish I had more time to burn a few rounds at some paper with you guys while I was there.

Oh, And if you go out on a weekend watch for the Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and the Lotus's
