I'll check them out, otherwise I'll just buy something from a Phoenix shop and transfer it here.
you should be able to use your AZ CCW as proof of training and be allowed to transfer. However there will be a wait up to 90 days

That's what I thought but apparently that is too logical. Since I don't have my training certificate anymore (my fault) I am going to provide them with scorecards from shooting matches. The law states I can do that, hopefully the sherriff's office will accept it.

Where do you live? There is a ton of matches around that publish results you can use.

I've been competing at AGC and have printed out the results for submission. I am going to try to get over to the S.O. to submit my paperwork next week.

When I suggested using matches to get my CCW a few years ago, everyone tore me apart about it!

*Well, I didn't already have a CCW like you do though.

I think if you can competently shoot in a match you're qualified to have a CCW for the following reasons. You are held accountable for how you handle a firearm (mess up, you get a warning, mess up again and you are asked not to participate) and most importantly you can SHOOT.
My case in point is when I took my CCW class in Az, they required us to "qualify" which means you shoot a fat albert sized target within 10'. The guy next to me pulls out this 6" plus Ruger GP100 .357 to use for qualifying. My first thought was, "great concealment gun" and then when we were done shooting, he failed qualification. That was only ten rounds fired. At least at a match you are shooting a minimum of 50.

Yeah. How could weapons handling skills under stress do you any good at all? How on earth could putting a lot of ammo through your carry gun help you? How on earth could actual shooting be better than typing about it on the internet?

    Idiots.

Okay, I looked up the thread and I didn't really get yelled at as much as I remembered it.
