Default Help me understand this ballistic chart

Okay I'm very new to the scope world and have question about this ballistic chart that came with my new scope! I understand mils and moa to a certain extant. Here is the reticle of the scope:

The BDC is actually in meters.

My question is, can someone explain to me what the different moa/mil numbers represent at each range?

3.6 MOA in a MiL. But that chart has me confused. It's seems way too complex haha. I don't understand the "Fine Vertical Post Height" list they have there. But what it looks like, for windage, each little line is the equivilant of one mil-dot and then the numbers aid you for quicker adjustments. Not sure what kind of hurricane you would be shooting in to have to adjust for 20+ mils but whatever. The 1 MOA might be throwing you off, it did for me at first, don't worry about that other than it's going to cover one inch at 100 yards.

This optic wont help you with range estimation unless you flip the rifle on it's side to measure height. But the "19 inches at 25m" means that if a guy fits to those lines shoulder to shoulder he's 25 meters away. If you could fit two guys in there, 50 meters etc.

Lastly, if this is a variable power optic these marks are only good on full power.

I understand the reticle, theres alot going on there, its the ballistic chart they provided. The 'fine verticle post height' is kinda weird. In my scope manual it says "the width of the short bars on the verticle line is for framing a 19" target at each range and the open area in the center of each short crossbar on the verticle line is to frame a 8.3" target at each range". That's very hard to understand! Anyway, the chart has my brain hurting trying to figure out the hold over values and the moa/mil numbers at different ranges.

Gotcha. Well what it looks like to me is that if you're going by 19", the width of an average dude at the shoulders, then if he's:

9.5 mils wide then he's at 50 meters
    4.8 mils 100m
    2.4 mils 200m

and so on down the line. I'm not sure what exactly 8.3 inches would be or why they list it. It's bigger than a head is wide so I'm lost. And as for why they list MOA is beyond me as well since really the only thing listed as MOA is the dot reticle. So disregard the MOA and memorize a few of the 19"/MIL numbers and you will have a pretty good idea of how far to adjust for bullet drop. Really you probably don't need to go out past about 3 or 4 hundred on an AR since you're memorizing what would be for two legged predictors.

Maybe they list 8.3" because it is close to how long a head is, but not close enough to how wide a head is for people to point it out and cry about a company making killing tools or something.

Whose scope and reticle is that? Way too many things to try and remember.

Here is a much simpler setup:

    Or specifically for the .223/5.56:
