That is a long and very interesting article. I don't know that one instance of an island only 64 square miles in size makes a good example for arguing that humans have ever run out of a resource on a large scale. Maybe it does though?

That's the problem. Most people are too lazy and complacent to actually boycott flying (like I already have).

and you can harp on the "YOU DON'T HAVE TO FLY" trumpet as much as you want, but the fact remains.

Many people HAVE to fly for their jobs.

Many people HAVE to fly to see their families.

Many people HAVE to fly to get places in a timely manner.

In this day and age, flying is a NECESSITY for many people.

The constitution protects the right to travel, period (You probably don't know, but it's implied and upheld in court via the fourteenth amendment).

In fact, constitutional scholar Roger Roots has referred to the forgotten right to travel without license as "the orphaned right."

As citizens of this country, our right to travel, by whatever means available to us, is constitutionally protected.

But you go ahead and use whatever false logic you want.

The fact remains, that if flying is not a "right"

Then it's not that far of a stretch until traveling PERIOD is a privilege.

And trust me, if you don't think their are people in government who would love to see that happen, you're dead wrong.

    Of course I am.

But I already take a stand where I can afford too.

I haven't flown in two years (despite the inconvenience of having to drive thousands of miles as a result)

I try to spread knowledge and awareness to my friends, family, and the people I meet.

But I still see things getting worse every year, and I see the broad majority of the masses acting as stupid and witless as ever.

That's not directed at you. Resist and influence where you can. It's better then nothing.

But the truth is, I don't have much hope at this point, and I'm sorry if that's
    disheartening.

IIRC the Soviet Union put restrictions on travel by it's citizens. I agree that the same mindset exists in the current administration.

Slaves, I wonder if the current resident views me as such.

I feel that the current TSA mess is just an incremental step.
If this assault on our rights continues at it's current pace you won't be able to drive up north to Jensens.
1- Firearms will be illegal to purchase or own.
2- You won't be able obtain travel clearance from Aurora to travel to Loveland.

To those of you that say "It's no big deal, I don't mind the pat downs if it means the Government can keep us safer."

    Agreed.

It's the mindless masses brought up by uninvolved parents, and underfunded, dumbed-down public education that are allowing this country to be ruined.

Most people are too stupid to sit back and realize, "hey, these security measures invade my privacy, strip me of my rights, and actually don't keep me any safer"

Not to mention, your chance of being involved in a terrorist attack are astronomically lower than dying in a car accident.

Sad thing is even statistics and facts can't sway these people, because they've never learned how to think critically.

Bastards indeed, the sheeple are willing to give our LIVES away for their perceived paradise.

Who will the sheeple turn to when the well known substance hit the electrical convenience?
