Great idea. The ability of the swivel to limit torque on the sling is a good benefit.
What I used on the sling I made was a tri-glide that attaches to a backpack sternum strap. A small piece if webbing from it attaches to a d-ring.

Nope. Mine is made for use with a HK snap hook.
