    I thought it was Cuban troops as part of the whole "communist pack" that came parachuting into school and was the invading force for the area in which the movie takes place. I don't recall it being Chinese...

    yeah just checked, no chinese, russian and cuban...

    Since they're so skinny from being staved they'll smuggle themselves in flat screen TV boxes. Since my company is in broadcast we have flat screen TV's all over and the Koreans ones have melted down in our environment of never being turned off.

    I don't blame the bozos in Hollywood for changing it. The international market often brings in way more money than the US. Even a total pirate country like China could be worth some money. The idea of being invaded by North Koreans just makes the movie sound dumber than a bag of rocks.

    I don't think it's totally outta line. The Cubans played a major role in the first movie, backed by the USSR. From what I've read, China still has a role in the invasion, but there'll be more focus on the North Koreans.

    I have to confess, I felt the original-cut completely sucked-ass, hated it. Tried to watch 2x as I recall and it just never did it for me. I can only imagine any sequel would be a turd-festival too.

    Why use the DPRK as a substitute? Just do "Red Dawn - The Southwest invasion" and base it on illegal imigration. Seems more plausible.
