That's the one thing that has me on edge, heavy wind, fire, in the hills and no where to go. I've planned well with evac routes etc but...not kidding myself. That shit comes roaring "up" with this kind of velocity behind it...I'm DOA. I was a genius and road my motorcycle the past two days, makes for a interesting 25 mile commute. Felt nice and sand blasted when I got home yesterday.

Just to make a short walk to your vehicle with these winds howling, you almost have to be real good at doping the wind like a precision rifle shooter.

Definitely need to be careful if you want a campfire with this kind of wind.
For mine the other night I made a Dakota-pit type fire but made it pretty deep so the wind couldn't pick it up.
At least it keeps the flies away. way away,, or hunkered down somewher.
