+1! This country has allowed itself to be dumbed down to a rediculous level. I have family that all think I have made my life hardet by always speaking up instead of lowering my head and ignoring the BS. Personally sleep better at night knowing istand up for my beliefs.

[quote=Byte Stryke;328268]what other countries is he referring to?

Maybe he is referring to places like England where the simple beat and stab each other instead of shooting?

You can still get shot in England because those of us with any common sense realize that bad guys don't buy their guns at the local gun store.
Gun control just pisses law abiding citizens off, it don't solve the problem with the bad guys.

I just thought I'd share this with all of you.

Politics! I knew they were just pissed we gave women the vote!

As to gun ownership causing increased violence, she is ignorant. This is just an issue of examples, what about Switzerland, Canada, area's of the US with little restriction and low violence (WY, CO-not Denver) vs. areas with much restriction and higher violence (NY, CA, Chicago, even, Denver). Or even murder rates in the US many years ago, cowboys owned guns, and the murder rate was MUCH lower.

Does Germany's beer culture cause a lot of wife beating?
Does Frances wine and cheese culture cause high obesity rates?

I love the comparison to the UK, as A. its a violent country, as explained before. and it is a shit poor comparison to the US. Its a generally mono-cultural island the size of a US state in the old world. A much better comparison is Mexico. New world culture, religious culture, ethnically diverse- and yet, with some of the tightest gun laws in the world, they're sure doing a lot of good! Go outside, it doesn't look like a Jane Austin novel in the US unless you are an Ivory towered professor that never leaves your Subaru unless you are at Whole Foods or a Coffee Shop!

There need to be a thread on arguments with stupid people regarding guns, just a compendium of arguments we have used that have worked. It seems like every argument runs about the same course.

The only problem with this idea is that no matter how much logic and reason you putin front of the libtards, they still refuse to get it!

I have had debates with libs about everything from gun control to economics to constitutional law. All those debates haveended the same way, me being frustrated bythefact that I can quote straight up statistics and they will name call and point fingers without having any legitimate factual background what so ever!

    You can't fix stupid!

I laugh, get up and go to the bathroom and come back in about 10 minutes. If the instructor is still being retarded, I turn around and leave again. Repeat as necessary. Makes a noticable protest to the douchebaggery and keeps me from starting an arguement.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Anyone that thinks war is good is ignorant. Anyone that thinks war isn't needed is stupid.

I would have said something. I never had a college prof. be biased with gun control.

doesn't matter anyways, most people will make up their own mind anyways, and a quick anti-gun statement tossed out during class was probably only really heard by 1/2 the class, really listened to by 1/2 of that 1/2 and taken seriously in one context or the other by 1/2 of the 1/2 of the 1/2 of the class...

I go to school down at Auraria and most not all, most people down there are liberals. I hear people say thier views about gun control and other topics along those lines. I always point my views, I dont care what the poeple down there think. I get tired of stupid ignorent students and professors that think guns are the problem. For instance in my english class we were talking about Columbine and how the douche bag Micheal Moore did the movie Bowling for Columbine and blamed K mart for selling them the ammo they used. I said thats complete bull shit, you cant blame a company for selling a product that is ment for sporting and some idiots decided to kill people with the product. Some people dis agreed with me but you have to stand your ground.

I am on Auraria Campus as well. I am a Poly-Sci Major. I have definitely experienced the liberals on campus. Sometimes you just have to laugh and realize A. They don't know what they are talking about. B. They are easily influenced by some of the more ridiculuos instructors. C. We all give people the rights to act like morons in this country.

I have mostly good experiences. I have a several instructors, especially lately have done a really good job of hiding their political beliefs. The other ones that I know are liberal, but some have done really good jobs of not shoving it down your throat and seeing my point of view during class arguments.

There is one instructor that I would refuse to argue with. THere is no convincing her and I don't care if she wants to be that retarded.

I would say, with school, pick your battles. Know the times to fight and know the times to just let it go. However, if you fight, know exactly what you are talking about because you now have to battle every libtard in the classroom.

I have also been lucky and ran into tons of like minded people in my upper-division classes.

Infact I have a Civil Rights professor who loves to have me argue other points in the class because he knows what I do for a living. He is liberal, but wants a good class discussion getting both sides out.
