Yessir, compared to Europeans and many other cultures we are. That's one of the reasons this country was founded, to allow folks who didn't agree with the way things were in the Old Country to go somewhere they didn't have that. And here we are. Not advocating either way (although I tend toward conservative), just saying.

You're kind of right.. But you're really not... The Pilgrims came to this country in search of religous freedom. The things they didn't agree with was more of a thing rather than things and that thing was the Church of England. The Church of England believed that the Kings law was god's law and nothing else mattered.

I don't think I'd have had a problem with doing a 31 year old gal, either...when I was 16. (Or now, if I was single!) I don't tend to agree with it either way, but that's just me. People mature physically a lot faster than they mature mentally for the most part, I think.

My issue with the teacher student is that it's an issue of a person of authority having relations with someone who is in their grasp of control. As a figure of authority it is your job to act with restraint; if you can not act with restraint you should not be in a postion of authority.

Man or woman; we are a nation of equal rights and equal rights should incur equal punishment. A 31 year old woman who sleeps with a 16 year old boy should suffer the same consequences as a 31 year old man who sleeps with a 16 year old girl. Equality means equal treatment wether it is favorable or unfavorable regardless of sex, race, ethnicity, religion and or sexual preference.

I can't even stand talking to an 18 year-old, much less sleeping with one. I imagine that any normal adult (of either sex) feels much the same. Grosses me out. An adult woman or man hooking up with a high school kid is pathetic and disturbing to me.
