Hiked and called for 8 hours today. Went from 7,400ft to 9,200ft! Nothing!! Didn't hear or see anything. The day ended with a huge snowstorm. Going back in the morning.

    Goodluck guys!

I finally got my Tom this evening around 5:30 pm! It had a 9" beard! My shot was from
45 YDS! That new H&S squealling hen call really made the difference! The Tom really came in running before I terminated him! I'll try to get a pic up in the morning.

Red face glad to hear someone got something.

It's quiet down here on the east foothills. I've put in about 20+ hours, 7100-8400 feet, and heard NADA! Ran into another hunter, same story. Found some huge tracks in some old mud. I wonder if the hard winter hurt the population or delayed mating? I'll save my energy and go back out in a few weeks. I can't remember the last time I hunted a whole morning and didn't even get a gobble. Anyway, congrats Montrose, well deserved with your determination.

Thanks Reticon! I did put some hours in the field this past 3 days. I was due for a Turkey! It's been 4 years! I don't want to sound like I'm pitchin this H&S squealer, but it really works. It's great for the areas where the Turkeys are a little educated to all the callers. $15 bucks at Wally World!
