if you have a ready to go receiver it is a piece of cake, or pie depending on you taste. using a flat is a little more tedious. i'd go with a receiver like one of Nodaks. i know a few folks here have done their own builds and can give you lots more info thani.

Why don't you get a nodak and come to one of our build parties? I'm sure someone will host a party sooner than later

vczar, if you want to build it yourself i could also help you out, i've helped friends with 2 different 74 builds and as far as akm builds i've done about half a dozen so far and helped out on at least that much more. i'm by no means an expert but i have all the tooling needed and have learned from so many of my own mistakes that i build a nice looking ak now i just need to start doing my own parking.

where in co are you anyway? i'm up north in greeley not far from Brycom and Jim

What tools do you need if you use a Nodak?

I haven't finished mine because it bent a little crooked...thinking about redoing it..

you will also need a press to press in the barrel. I've been talking to a couple of folks and we are thinking about doing a southern Colorado build in the near future..thinking sometime mid - late June..
