IS there really any difference between the two ? ( other then the name obviously)

Last Tanner I went to I picked up three off brand name containers...

I've not had a chance to go shoot em yet but it all works the same ... just like coke and pepsi are the damn same ( yes I know some of you just gasped)

When I was in Sportsman's, I thought the jars actually said "tannerite" on them.

I got some at Sportsmans Warehouse last month. I'v never shot it, but I want to surprise the hell out of my 11 yr old boy with it. He passed the muzzle control test at Apple seed a few weeks ago when he got stung by a bee, on the firing line, with a loaded rifle in his hand. He screamed like only a pre pubescent boy can, but I sure was a proud Dad when he kept his muzzle pointed down range (and didn't turn, flinch and shoot the guy next to him). So what is a safe distance for a .5 LB jar?

    Awesome story, and great description.

I usually set them at 50 yards in dirt with no grass or anything around it.
