So I stopped at sev for poptarts and gatorade this morning, and a woman in front was trying to handle a quart of oil and the hood of her ford exploder at the same time.
asked if she needed help, and she said she needed a funnel to pour the oil.
a guy that walked up said stores like 7-11 usually have paper funnels for folks to use. So we went in and couldn't find any funnels for free, they had a plastic one for sale but she said it was too big. I told her in a pinch all she needs is a piece of cardboard or something to roll up.
the other guy asked her if it was for transmission fluid, she said no, just oil.
he replied you don't need a funnel for that, we all went out to the car and learned that she was trying to fill the oil thru the dipstick tube. she said she'd always done it that way.
so I held the hood and he poured the oil, put it 1/2 qt and checked it, still needed it so he poured the rest in, then all went our separate ways.
I felt a little silly for not getting more info first, and trying to help her find a funnel to fill the dipstick tube.
