I've not had the opportunity to handle the SR9, I typically shy away from the women's firearms

I do have a KP944, which is the Full metal frame P Series .40 S&W.

Hits what I Shoot at not counting shooter error. Works as a melee weapon when you run out.

Most of the ill-will towards Ruger stems from past political stances and the fact that, well, they ain't pretty.

I recently lost a retainer clip, called Ruger to order another one. They sent me 3 for free... Overnight.

its not a custom Colt, But its not a hi-point either
I trust it as much as I trust my Springfield.

Have to agree with Byte. My first pistol was a P95, the compact, polymer frame 9mm. it ain't pretty and it ain't fancy, but it works. I had mine for 3 years and about 2500 rounds, and I don't remember it ever missing a beat. I'd definitely rate it above a Hi-Point or Kel-Tec.

I have heard they don't have a "warranty" But their customer service is amazing and they fix for free in most cases like Byte said..

their customer service is G-VG consistently. While some of the older handguns are not as comfortable as their newer product line is. They are tanks that will digest anything short of a flat nose lead hollow point YMMV.
I was just looking at the newer 9mm you inquired about. overall it is a nice looking and fitting gun. How it does in real time i am not aware of.
Not that they are on your inquiry list, however i doubt any board member is lacking one of their 10/22 or semi 22's in the safe.

The only Ruger I have ever owned is the LCP. Very nice back up pistol. Fit and finish is top notch. I have not had a single problem with it. I am so impressed with it that I am thinking about a Ruger 357 revolver.

Honestly, I had an all day adventure of gun shops today and I forget which one it was. It was only a display model, they have some ordered just on backorder. I may wait for the LC9 or go ahead and grab the SR9c

SR9c better all around handgun, LC9 better for conceal carry. Prices on LC9's have come down a good bit since release, don't overpay.

Ballpark prices should be SR9c $400, LC9 $350.

Although I have not shot a SR9 I have monkeyed with a couple and at least ergonomically Ruger got the SR9 right. The P series such as the P89 were just pigs in the hand. They also had a neat trick of launching the slide on high round count pistols.
Ruger builds a good firearm, over engineered if anything. If you have a Blackhawk or Vaquero you always have a jack handle.
Excellent service from the factory as well.
