    Default Ohio Defensive Shooting

    Shamelessly borrowed from Pirate4x4.

Two guys attack a man at a gas station. Man has a CCW and shoots one of the assailants.

    Interesting read.

I could only read the first few pages from the forum. These crack heads are trash. He showed considerable control to only put two rounds into the first guy, and not turn around and put some into the other guy as well. Well done. Hope these guys OD before there is any more trouble. The facebook stuff makes me sick.

the gun was a glock model 36. carrying with one in the chamber probably saved my life because i was holding myself in the car with my left hand as they were trying to pull me out of the car no way i could have racked the slide.
    Only way to go IMO.

    Question

Didn't click your links but I heard about this last night. Was a good shoot. Guy was holding himself in the vehicle with one hand and shooting with his offhand... props to him for getting 2 hits with 2 shots. Was in and out of the police station in 4 hours or so and slept in his own bed that night. I'll dig up the link to that tool's Facebook page when I get home later he's basically admitting to participating in the crime, saying shit like how he'd be in jail if he shot someone permit or not, just all around bitching and acting like a dumbshit thug.

Lots of important things to take away from this....

    1. ALWAYS carry Condition 1, or one in the chamber. It could save your life. He wouldn't have been able to rack the slide on his weapon had he needed to, you may not be able to either.
    2. ALWAYS carry your weapon on you. A weapon in your glovebox, center console, trunk, fridge, toilet does you no good if you aren't within arm's reach of it. If these thugs had anything resembling intelligence, his turning and reaching for his Glock in the glovebox could very well have been the end of him. If these thugs had blades, his allowing them to get so close for so long could have been the end of him as well.
    3. ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. If you're suspicious of someone, don't let them get as close to you
or for as long of a time as he let the thugs get. If they do approach you, escalate the situation under the guise of de-escalation to observe their actions and determine whether they are a threat while showing witnesses that you're the victim and aren't interested in a confrontation (put your hands up, palm out, elbows bent not locked, and say something like "hey man you're making me uncomfortable, back off," this creates a "fence" with your hands and the rule is that if they touch the fence its game on.).
    4. We live in the 21st century. Always assume somebody is watching whatever you do, because somebody usually is. This incident was recorded on the gas station security camera, on a witness's cell phone, AND the uninjured thug is posting all over his Facebook page. This means that in the event of a shooting, you need to make sure you have all your ducks in a row and clearly show witnesses (be them flesh or digital) that you are the victim and you don't want any trouble both visually and auditorilly (sp).

Edited to add... two hits with the undefeatable almighty .45ACP at extremely close range and this guy's still walking

Not sure why there's a question mark above my post. Must have added it on accident.

I am telling you what... In these times of all these welfare MF's entitlement thinking, now the assmonkey that got shot is the victim. I guess it's OK for POS's to assualt and rob hard working, law abiding citizens.

Many of you don't really know how bad this thinking is. Generations of non working MF's that think all hustle is fair game...AND there are thousands of "educated" social workers out there that tell them it's OK and that it is not their fault, but societies fault for not doing more...

Put all assholes to work, repairing roads, picking up trash, cleaning city streets if they're hungry, just don't give them food, they won't appreciate it...

    Good Shoot

as far as how people should carry, I think this story should be a consideration, but it is still up to each individual.

I carry in the hopes I never have to use it.

I agree. He even said that he was holding the door closed with one hand, and he never would have been able to rack the slide if the round wasn't chambered.

I've been getting some practice at untucking my shirt when shady people approach me lately. Something else people may want/need to practice when carrying with shirt tucked in.
