RMGO was instrumental in getting the CCW laws we have today and the "Make My Day" law for protection in your home.

They have been leading the battle to allow CCW on college campuses including overturning the CU ban.

They are constantly working to identify business that are anti-CCW.

They worked with legislators to introduce new CCW laws that would allow any law abiding citizen to carry without a permit or training.

I agree that the fear mongering and asking for money is a little over the top and gets annoying but I'll gladly put up with that for the what they do.

I support the cause and not the man. I'll continue to support RMGO because I believe in their underlying philosophy even if I don't agree with all their actions (Gunsmoke/TV show) or their constant begging (see also: any non profit organization, particularly one you have ever donated to). They do give gun owners a voice, but just as politicians aren't 100% of what I had envisioned it's the 60-70% that I vote them in for (the same 60-70% that I DON'T vote for the other guy because of).

Nothing is perfect, some are just good enough to pass.

I will re-asses my decision to withhold money from them when this Gunsmoke fiasco is over.

I'm not here to be pro or anti RMGO. However, I have a hard time believing that they had anything to do with Colorado's "Make My Day" law. This law was passed 26 years ago back in 1985. I may be wrong, but I don't think RMGO was around back then. Do you have some evidence to support this?

I don't know Dudley at all but it was asked in this thread if RMGO does even one good thing for gun owners.

One example is the list they keep of businesses that choose to disallow firearms. I appreciate the fact that I can choose to spend my money locally at businesses that don't go out of their way to infringe on my carry rights.

I can say objectively that RMGO.com's section on these businesses is a good thing for all Colorado gun owners regardless of what one may think of Dudley as a person or the organization as a whole.

Again, I am only trying to be objective.

I know Dudley and he is a good guy. RMGO has done a lot of work in CO to improve our rights. I don't always agree with the everything but I still support their efforts and goal to secure more freedom for us in CO and nationally with NAGR.

I am an NRA member as well as NAGR and RMGO. I have been disgruntled with the NRA in several areas the last couple years, but the last straw was the NRA endorsed Markey over Gardner, a guy I have shot machine guns next too at the shoots in eastern CO, I gave up on them and am moving on.

I Guess my point is this:
How can you claim to be doing something positive for Colorado Gun Owners when you use your membership roster to ask us to line up and get screwed by Gunsmoke on National TV?

had this been some "Off List" advert I would say "Ok, they are just spamming."
You Used a list we entrusted to you to further the rights of Citizens, Not further the pockets of Dick Wyatt.

Byte, I ain't arguing with you. In fact, this is why I started this thread. You need to go into more detail. How are we getting "screwed by Gunsmoke on National TV"?

well if a zebra can change their stripes and a Leopard can change their spots it might be all OK.
However, I can pretty well predict that the river will continue to flow, the grass will continue to grow and Gunsmoke will continue mounting customer complaints. For RMGO to use their Membership list to look for volunteers/victims of this is less than amusing.

RMGO didn't claim to write the current "Make My Day" law that is now in Colorado Statutes.

We have been trying to expand that law, so it covers you in your place of business, in your car, or other areas.

Yes, please: let the smoke clear (if you'll pardon the pun) on this TV Show, and see what you think, if you have questions about us. Judge RMGO by what it does, where it stands, and (in regards to this TV show) the part RMGO plays (NOT Rich Wyatt, or anyone else, as we have no control over that).

To some here who are NRA guys, but then say "I can't believe RMGO would associate with Rich Wyatt", I suggest you look at an American Rifleman magazine from early 2010, with Sen. Harry Reid's picture all over it (with Wayne LaPierre fawning all over him).
