    did, 7000 rpm to be exact, the builder has after some "coaxing" has taken blame for not checking piston to valve clearance and using a thick enough head gasket, and says he is going to make it right...

    7000 rpm on a push rod is cooking! That was probably one of the best failures I have seen... wow!

    This is why I build my own. Every brand has it's quirks and I check and recheck everything from the machine shop. Since I deal in Pontiac's it is even more important.
