Any Motorcycle Trail Riding?

Kind of new to the forum and to the area, but you guys are pretty well informed so ....

Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any Trail Riding / Dual Purpose Bike type clubs or organizations in Central Colorado? I've recently retired to our home in the Mtns. (W. of Woodland Park) full time and have a Honda XR 650L set up for On/Off road. I've ridden most of the trails around where I live but was curious if anyone else rides up this way? I've waited a long winter to ride and I'd like to see more of this beautiful area without getting too lost.

It'll be cold again before ya know it.

Well I ride an ATV which is different type of riding than you do but I do know about the Rampart Range Motorcycle management committee and they have a list of a bunch of groups and clubs listed in their website: http://rampartrange.org/pages/rampar..._Organizations which would be a great place to start.

Nice bike BTW! Had one of those beasts ten years ago. To fat to have any fun on them these days!

Red Cone up and over to the Divide. Lots of riding way more than a days worth.

From the trails around your house you can make it damn near across the state. Rampart kicks mucho ass. Ride for days and never see the same dirt. Most of the trails are easy, but a few might be tuff for that heavy 650.

Is my 1980 Honda 185cc too small for most trails? It has a really big sprocket. I need to finish getting it running this summer.

I'd think it's ok. For rampart anyway. (easy trails)

Single track suggestions :

Montrose/Delta. Flat Top OHV and Peach Valley area east of town. Drycreek west of town. These are my winter areas.
Fruita ride Rabbit Valley in to West Water Ut. My early spring /winter area.
Taylor Park west of BV. This is a must do.Still has some snow.
Granby area Stillwater pass, also called Rand.
Wolcott just north of I-70 on hwy131 . Turn left on Horse something road like MM 2. Another area north of here in McCoy at MM22. Melted
Breckenridge head out Tiger Road and go for miles.Still has snow.Many miles above 12k.
Steamboat above Steamboat lake big Red Park has good riding. Creek crossing are still very high.
Rico near Telluride. Expert level. It is melted.
Salida/Rainbow Tr. Melted.
Pitkin/Sargents is melted out another must do .
BV. Ruby Mtn.
I have been clearing a lot of wood riding lately. it is a good idea to carry a saw above 10k feet still if you do not already know.Excellent riding in Colorado most are not like the fun FAST riding in Woodland Park.Go high and beat the heat.
