Default Neighber can open my garage....

He doesn't know it, but I finally figured out why my garage door has a mind of it's own!

Does anyone know if you can change the signal an auto garage door opener uses or do I have to change the whole unit?

Depends on if it is a rolling code remote, or a remote that has switches in it.

Open up the remote and see if there are switches in there and if so you should be able to set the remote and main unit to whatever you want

    Google it...
Internet search the model and you'll find the info...
I had to reprogram my remote.

If you have an older Garage Door opener it'll have a set of dip switches in both the remote and on the main unit ... just flip a couple and make sure they're the same on both.

On a newer one this video might help.

Of course you might want to Google instructions for your specific unit.

I just had a thought ... maybe you should run down to your neighbor's place and see if there's anything good in their garage before you go changing the code on your remote.

A Westminster man was shot to death late yesterday when he was discovered prowling through his neighbors garage.
The Homeowner discharged 36 rounds into the prowler as it was believed the prowler was armed at the time.
The Homeowner will not be charged.
