I was gonna say, the dumpster at my shop gets emptied 5 days a week, and the driver is careful to turn a blind eye on some "questionable" items, as long as they aren't too blatant (we've disposed of junk engines this way before). Forum members are welcome to use it, just gimme a heads up so I can be there when you empty your junk into it(neighbors in the building get a little pissy if people fill it with junk without permission, mostly construction trash from the surrounding neighborhood).

Note: the shop is near the Jeffco Fairgrounds

I am bringing my camera and long lenses to do some different kind of shooting. I was watching people shooting up desks when I last went up.

Gentlemen, I know all of you are adamant about cleaning up these public ranges, and it is honorable, but you are trying to herd cats in my opinion... It might it be worth considering joining one of the private clubs, IE; Frontier, Sportsmans, etc (I don't know any North ones). All of the negatives I have read about the public ranges on this forum (morons, cleanup, death, etc) are the reasons I stopped going to Rampart many moons ago, and it appears nothing has changed. Just my 2 cents...

I agree about clubs. I've been a member of Be Lomond for a long time. I moved a few years ago and the South Site is probably marginally closer so I usually go there. I can do rifle and pistol without moving berms and Tannerite!

I'll probably be out at the south site Saturday morning to try out a couple of toys I've been working on. I'll pick up what I can but I have a bum knee. I'll be in an old red Tacoma with a camper shell.

a few of the many reasons rampart closed
    trash
    the shooting of trees
    unsafe shooting habits
    human waste
    squatters

i dont want the restrictions of a private facility or the cost that goes with it. i do understand why some folk like a controlled environment but i like dirt , wind , being able to run and gun , smoking (cigs ) , rapid fire , not being told to wear glasses and ear protection ect.
im just gonna do my best to keep the site closest to my house clean and open .

I always take one or two video cameras with me when I shoot. Primarily I use them to evaluate my performance - as well as document cool shoots - but it is also for me to protect myself if someone were to confront me out in places like that. I'm quite aware that I am one of those "gun nuts" and there are plenty of people that will say or do anything to "prove" that we all deserve to have our guns taken away. It may only be my cell phone but I've generally got tape rolling when I shoot.

If they closed all the areas around here because of squatting, there would be no open public lands. West Magnolia, Ruby Gulch... And talk about trashed...
