Easiest to conceal cause of your natural body lines, least chance of being discovered (someone can easily discover your weapon by accident when giving a hug, for example, if carrying on the hips or back. The only people getting that close to the AIWB area of your body when hugging probably know you well enough to know its there), and most importantly... fastest draw.

Sounds like a method best for skinny young fellers, not us fat old guys. 3:00 is best for me, I have a shoulder issue that prevents going back farther than that (hard to reach back that way), and "belly issues" anywhere around the front.

Believe it or not, having a little more... tactical front padding... actually makes easier than it already is to conceal AIWB. Helps keep the grip from printing.
Would be helpful for your shoulder too. The reason it allows for the fastest draw is because it has the most direct drawstroke, meaning you just move your arm up and grab the grip on your way up... no reaching around, twisting, bending, and whatever else. Your shoulder doesn't need to move anywhere funny.

I used to open carry ALOT, and I would say 90% of people never even noticed it was there.

More people probably noticed than you knew about. I've overheard people asking each other questions like "I wonder what police department he works for?" when I've seen people open carrying. I think that as long as you look like you are not a "gang banger" or "bad guy" most people assume that you must be some type of LEO because nobody else would carry a gun out in the open - other than those of us that carry and say "cool, someone else is carrying here besides me - hey what is that he is carrying...". I've actually struck up a couple conversations with guys if I've seen them with a pistol that I've been thinking about getting to see what they think of it.

I don't care so much any more about what other people think about me carrying. I'm fairly careful about not printing, but what I am doing is legal and my right.

I too had a similar occurrence http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40232 so I know the pucker felling that you felt. It did show me, however, that most people notice very little out in public.

One Sunday morning, while packing at church [what do you expect from “Pistol Packing Preacher”?], a short lady came and stood by my side. I stand 6’ 2” so most ladies are short. We chatted for a while and she stepped closer and gave me one of those ‘side hugs’. Her arm went around my back and her hand rested on my full size CZ. She did not flinch or pull back her hand. She continued to look forward and said… “Packing heat?”
How do you answer that… honestly?
    “Guess so!”
She smiled and calmly sat down in the pew.

Heh.. before she started to carry..the gf would bust my balls if the breeze blew and she could 'see' my gun...

The only reason she'd even notice is she knew it was there and was looking.. I've had entire conversations w/ PD and .gov types who had no idea..

That all changed when she started carrying.. it took a few weeks till she got over the paranoia... Now I just have an excuse to put my hands on her ass when I hug her

Pretty much. Well, I guess I live in a different spot but no one seems to care here when I don't conceal.

I've taken off a sweater at work and had my shirt ride up to my chest while carrying. Carrying at work = instant firing. That will make your butthole pucker.
