What if the syringe didn't contain AIDS infected blood? Is that a gamble you really want to take? I'd put two in his chest, one in his head. I saw a viable threat to my life- granted not immediate but it would also be a severe life changing event if I was infected. I would find it nearly impossible to get married, have children, and enjoy life. Kill 'em all, let God sort them out... deviants I mean, the incurable career criminals that do this sick twisted fawking chit!

Nothing, Chuck Norris is immune to AIDS, however, AIDS is not immune to Chuck Norris.

Also, the hobo clearly had lethal intent, its not like he walked in and said he had a syringe full of "the cold!"

Credible threat = appropriate response. If I was convinced the guy posed a credible threat of "death or serious bodily harm", then I would do what was necessary to end the threat. A mentally unstable vagrant with a syringe full of God-knows-what would qualify, regardless of if that syringe contains tainted blood, drain cleaner, or Koolaid.

IMO, a weapon is a weapon, and a deadly threat is a deadly threat. Gun, knife, club, syringe, no difference to me. I'd draw fully prepared to fire with safety off and laser on, but if there was enough space between us I'd likely hesitate a second to give him a chance to piss himself and hit the floor screaming. Any move or indication otherwise from him and it's on.

Doesn't matter if the syringe has AIDS in it, any more than it matters if a gun has ammo in it.

Just remember, to use deadly force you have to articulate a lesser degree of force would be inadequate and that you reasonably believed you were defending yourself or another from the imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury. Then of course, you will be second guessed by bleeding heart public defenders and judged by 12 of your peers that were too stupid to get out of jury duty. Makes a pretty good argument for being a fantastic witness unless you have no other option.

Default What would the cops do?

What would the cops do? A jury or investigative panel would probably be less likely to find fault with a cop shooting him. If I shot him, I'd be careful of the blood splatter, he might really have AIDS. Some libtard DA would prolly throw me under the bus...I'm gonna avoid cupcake shops for now! Stick to donut shops, much safer.

I'm not sure using the cops as a reference point is a good idea unless you are in public.

At my house, if someone breaks into my house, I'll very likely kill them. The cops on the other hand, would just surround the place and flush him out with dogs or something. Both are correct actions.
